Why YS Badminton Has Different Levels
At YS Badminton, we believe every player deserves the right training at the right time. That’s why we separate students into different levels:
- 🎯 Focused Learning – Players train on skills that suit their current ability, instead of feeling lost or overwhelmed.
- 📈 Step-by-Step Progress – Levels create a clear pathway so players can see their growth and aim for the next stage.
- 🤝 Positive Training Environment – Students are grouped with peers of similar ability, which builds teamwork, motivation, and confidence.
- ✅ Coach Efficiency – Coaches can give more targeted feedback when groups are balanced, ensuring quality instruction for every player.
- 💡 Fair & Safe Play – Proper grouping avoids mismatched games, reduces injury risk, and helps every player enjoy training.

Levels
Your level will be determined at the end of the term through an assessment report prepared by our coaches.
- Level 3 – Advanced / Elite (potentially get sponsored by YS)
The highest stage. Players here show excellent technique, strong footwork, tactical awareness, and mental strength. They compete at high-level competitions and may represent the club at state or national level.
- Level 2 - Performance
Students at this stage have a strong foundation and are now focusing on learning advanced skills and improving overall gameplay. They work on refining stroke quality, developing tactical awareness, and handling faster rallies. Training emphasizes advanced footwork, shot variety, and applying strategies effectively in both singles and doubles.
- Level 1+ – Developing
Players who have moved beyond the basics and can rally with control. They are beginning to use footwork patterns effectively and apply simple tactics in games. At this stage, the focus is on building consistency, improving power, and preparing for more advanced competition.
- Level 1 - Foundation
Entry level for new players. Focus is on basic grips, simple strokes, footwork patterns, and rules of the game. At this stage, players build confidence, coordination, and enjoyment while developing essential skills.
